A'ja Wilson: Leading With Excellence
Aja Wilson is one of the greatest to ever play the game of basketball. Since entering the league as the #1 draft pick and Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year, Aja has solidified a legacy of dominance. In her 2025 WNBA Championship season, she became the first player in history to win Kia WNBA MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards, WNBA Finals MVP, and the scoring title in the same season.
Aja led the Las Vegas Aces to their first-ever title in 2022 and, in 2025, to their third championship in four years —also capturing an unprecedented fourth Kia WNBA MVP award. In addition, she's a three-time Kia WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, a seven-time WNBA All-Star, and a two-time gold medalist. In 2025, she was named TIME's Athlete of the Year and a Woman of the Year.
Her greatness began at home, in South Carolina, where A'ja led her college team to its first women's basketball championship. She earned three consecutive SEC Player of the Year awards and swept all National Player of the Year honors as a senior. The school cemented her legacy with a statue, retired her jersey number 22, and inducted her into the Athletics Hall of Fame.
